GREBECONSULT was founded in 1981 when Hartmut Grebe consulted with companies in the Silicon Valley area. The firm is now located in Lawrence, Kansas, and Berlin, Germany. In mediation, mobility is key, and GREBECONSULT started early with it.

Dr. Grebe has a master's degree in electrical engineering and a doctorate in computer science. He was an assistant professor at the Technische Universität Berlin and visiting assistant professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After moving out of academia, he worked as a software development manager in the Silicon Valley industry. Before setting up shop as an independent consultant, he undertook extensive training in psychology and group dynamics at the University of California Berkeley, the California Institute of Professional Psychology and with leading personalities in the area of group therapy such as Dr. George Bach of Los Angeles. He is a graduate of Richard Bolles' trainer course. He now consults mainly in the interpersonal aspects of management.

Dr. Grebe's technical background has been a great asset in his work since he knows the technology industry as an insider. His experience in industry and academia, in the United States and Europe, has equipped him with the broad spectrum of insights and skills that a mediator needs to be effective.

High profile and complex mediation cases are handled by Dr. Grebe himself. Other cases may be handled by skilled consultants who have all undergone thorough training by Dr. Grebe.
